Train with Coach Phil
Phillip Morrison has a passion for sharing the gospel through the game of basketball. It was during his time playing overseas in the Philippines, while working with missionaries, that he felt a calling toward basketball mission ministry. Between his professional team games and practices, he would lead basketball ministry clinics alongside a ministry called The Salvation Teams and missionary Steven Seibert. This became the turning point where he felt called to bridge the gap between high-level basketball training and basketball ministry.
He later retired and returned home to Kentucky to start Hoops for Christ. He is a former Nike Camp Director of Kentucky and a former professional basketball player overseas. Phil has trained players at every level, including NBA athletes, overseas professionals, college All-Americans, high school All-State players, and youth of all ages. He has also directed basketball camps and clinics in countries around the world.
Train with Coach Bennie
Coach Bennie brings firsthand experience from playing and training at high levels of the game. As a former semi-professional athlete who played overseas, he understands the discipline, preparation, and intelligence required to compete beyond youth basketball.
During his career, Coach Bennie also spent time working with the Dallas Mavericks organization and their G-League program, gaining valuable exposure to the standards and expectations of professional basketball.
In addition to his playing experience, he has trained several professional athletes, giving him a unique perspective on what separates players who simply participate in the game from those who succeed at the next level.
At Alpha Sports Performance, Coach Bennie focuses on helping athletes develop confidence, basketball IQ, discipline, and the complete skill set required to compete at higher levels of the sport with longevity.
